Retired K9 Rocco passes at the age of 13 1/2 years old

It is with a heavy heart we share the news of the recent passing of retired K9 Rocco. Rocco served the city with distinction from 2011 until he and his partner, Officer Wuckovich, retired in 2018. Rocco and Officer Wuckovich have earned Triple Crowns in K-9 competitions over the last three years of his service.
In his retirement, K9 Rocco spent plenty of time playing with his family. Rest easy K9 Rocco, you will be missed. Thank you for your service.
We have lost 3 of our retired K9s in the last 7 months. K9 XigXag passed in September at the age of 9, K9 Czekaj passed in February at the age of 10 and we lost K9 Rocco this March. These dogs have worked hard their entire lives and we mourn their loss. We are glad we have been able to make their retirement a little easier for both them and their handlers by being able to continue medical and health coverage with the generosity of our donors.
Rest easy XigXag, Czekaj and Rocco, we hope you are all playing together once again!
