The Alexandria Police Foundation (APF) is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to providing resources to the Alexandria Police Department to improve officer performance, morale, and effectiveness, and to ensure the care and well-being of its active and retired police dogs. With the endorsement of the Alexandria City government and the support of the leadership of the Alexandria Police Department, the APF seeks resources and grants to support activities that build and strengthen police-community partnerships.

Alexandria Police Department’s K9 Taz has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
