Administrative Director 

(Contractor, Approx 20-hours/week 

at discretion of Director depending on major events)


The Alexandria Police Foundation (APF) is seeking a contractor to serve in the role of Administrative Director. Responsibilities are estimated to take approximately 20-hours per week. 


Broad Responsibilities

The contract requires professional handling of administrative and financial responsibilities, community outreach and coordination on behalf of the Alexandria Police Foundation (APF) with the Alexandria Police Department (APD):

· Handle written and electronic communications (outgoing and response) to and among board members, also with the Alexandria Police Department (APD) and the public.

· Prepare quarterly financial reports and an annual budget for Board review/meetings.

· Maintain electronic and hardcopy files and ensure shared access with the board president.

· Attend, participate and provide support at APF board meetings and events (Annual Officer Memorial Programs, Karaoke With Cops, Little Theatre of Alexandria, Chicks for Cops).

· Review and prepare Foundation grant requests, finalize and present at Board meetings

· Maintain the already established website and occasionally prepare and post on social media (for events and special initiatives)  

· Endeavor to establish relations within the police department, particularly at APD headquarters on Wheeler Avenue, to include coordination with the APD Volunteer Coordinator


Compensation

Monthly contract payment is $2,500 commensurate with duties being accomplished in a timely and professional manner. 


Periodic Review

In addition to ongoing conversations about needs of the Foundation and of the contractor, the president will seek input from the Board and have a performance conversation with the contractor every six months.
